Lobo Solitario is a new boutique in the heart of the New Museum. Co-owned by designer and embroiderer Maryam Keshavarz, they carry clothes designed and embellished by independent designers from around the world. Their customers range from cultural reporters and journalists to friends, family members, and most importantly, themselves. Many events in Maryam Keshavarz's life influenced her decisions when creating lobo solitario wilcom embroidery studio crack. Growing up with a Persian father and Hispanic mother in Texas, Maryam had a unique upbringing. Her father is Persian which got Maryam interested in design and clothes. When she was two years old, her parents moved to Texas moving from southern Iran due to the civil conflict. She knows little of her roots in Iran or how it influenced her, until she returned when she was 13 for the first time since leaving at age 2. She was shocked by the poverty and living conditions of her relatives there. Later on when she visited, her relatives were very wealthy due to oil business so it is hard to know what they were actually going through while Maryam was visiting. When Maryam went to high school in 6th grade, her high school friends gave her a sweater with an eagle on it. The eagle symbolizes freedom and freedom of speech so when she graduated from high school she wore it with pride. A few years later when she was in college, her father died. This left Maryam depressed for most of the semester out of sympathy with his death. When she returned home for Christmas break, her mother became ill. This caused her mother to have a stroke and started using a wheelchair. This left Maryam very unsure of whether she wanted to continue with her education or not or whether she should go pursue a career or stay at home which she had been leaning towards. Maryam didn’t see herself as a designer until after college when she started working for the design collective, Veroli. The work that Maryam did contributed to Veroli’s integrity as the work that they produced has been critically acclaimed as good design and has been used in publications such as Wallpaper* Magazine. At Veroli, Maryam had many opportunities to meet other designers and take part in many workshops.
